Working discussion on the Amendments to the RA Law on “On Copyright and Related Rights”

The Intellectual Property Office of the RA Ministry of Economy has initiated extensive amendments to the RA Law “On Copyright and Related Rights”. 

On February 26, a working discussion on the draft was held, organized by the Investment Council of Armenia and the Intellectual Property Office of the RA Ministry of Economy. At the beginning of the meeting, Kristine Hambaryan, Head of the RA Intellectual Property Office, presented the main conceptual approaches proposed under the draft law and the related legislative package. Representatives of the private sector then had the opportunity to raise their questions and submit proposals regarding the draft.

During the second part of the meeting, expert Vanik Margaryan delivered a comprehensive presentation on the proposed regulations concerning collective rights management.

Participants put forward a number of proposals. At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to continue discussions on the draft.
