On December 2, the official presentation event of the “Textile Sector Operator” Foundation took place. The Foundation will operate based on the Armenian Government–approved Program for the Development of the Textile Industry of Armenia and the resulting 2023–2026 Action Plan. The program was developed through the joint coordination of the Investment Council of Armenia and the Ministry of Economy, with funding from the UK Government’s Good Governance Fund and support from the EBRD.

According to its Charter, the Foundation’s mission is to support the sustainable development, modernization, and international competitiveness of Armenia’s textile sector; promote the adoption of modern technologies and quality enhancement; strengthen public-private cooperation; facilitate the creation and promotion of local brands; ensure alignment with eco-standards and global trends; advance gender equality; and support export expansion and access to new markets.

Opening remarks at the event were delivered by:

Davit Manukyan, EBRD representative
Hovsep Patvakanyan, Head of the Investment Council of Armenia

Tigran Jrbashyan, Partner and Director of Management Advisory Services at Ameria CJSC, presented “Support to the Textile Sector of Armenia: Establishment of the Textile Operator” and an overview of textile sector developments in 2022–2024. Erik Minasyan, Acting Executive Director of the Textile Operator Foundation, presented the Foundation’s functions and vision.

The event continued with a panel discussion featuring representatives from the public sector, the industry, and partner organizations. The discussion was moderated by Tigran Jrbashyan, Partner and Director of Management Advisory Services at Ameria CJSC.The panelists were:

Erik Minasyan, Acting Executive Director of the Textile Operator Foundation

The participants discussed prospects for the development of the textile sector, opportunities for technological modernization, productivity enhancement, and access to international markets.
